Head gasket failure shouldn't be a problem on a correctly built Mighty Mini engine due to their relatively mild spec. However, there are still a number of head gaskets that you're allowed to use on a Mighty Mini. First option is the standard black composite gasket (either the Payen TAM1521 or the Rover GUG702560HG). As Mighty Minis run relatively low compression and are standard bore size this gasket is more than up to the job and is cheap as chips at about £7. Compressed volume is 2.8cc. The AF460 gasket is copper and has a compressed volume of only 3.4cc. Price-wise is it's about £12 from Mini Spares. Some people prefer it over the standard gasket, others don't see the point. The C-AHT188 is about £35, and has a compressed volume of 3.7cc. Although it's a very good gasket, it's overkill for the sort of power that Mighty Mini engines generate and is only really required on high compression, big bore motors.
